Estes Park is growing...Major construction project at the Stanley, Elkhorn also has a new hotel going up.  The downtown theater is also undergoing renovations!   

Some people think our housing values will double in the next 5 years due to attention from Sundance movie festival and our first major chain hotel being constructed now.  

The state of Colorado allows anyone with a license to practice real estate anywhere in the state they want to.  But they are supposed to have geographical competancy.  That means they are supposed to have some expertise in the areas they work.  We run into this all the time in Estes Park.  We have realtors from the front range that do business here and do not know our complex vacation rental rules or which neighborhoods have limited water.  Our properties here can be very unique and its not like typical subdivisions.  Some properties have wells and others  have cisterns that need to be filled for water.  We can also face unique insurance issues here.  When you hire a local Realtor it helps you minimize some of the surprizes that can come up along the way.
